Rob’s Famous!

We’ve always listed the country of origin of all of our fresh produce. We think it’s so important to know where your food is coming from. Our customers want to know that their fruits and vegetables are grown and harvested locally. That’s why we love the new Southern Forests Initiative to label all WA fresh produce. It’s a great way to give recognition to the growers of amazing produce plus it assures our customers that their food is grown in good conditions.

Rob was recently in the West Australian talking about this new initiative. He said, “Customers will like seeing the region the food is from – with the remoteness of the area, the growing conditions in the Southern Forest region are a lot better”

Healthy Hot Cross Buns!

It isn’t Easter without sharing some warm, buttery hot cross buns. However, the hot cross buns you generally find in your supermarket are full of sugar, preservatives and other nasties that aren’t good for you or your family. Rather than scouring the shelves this Easter looking for a healthy alternative, why not whip up your own batch of hot cross buns!

We found a recipe that is sure to be a winner in your household from Well Nourished. What we love about this recipe is that it doesn’t use any yeast. An intolerance to yeast may not be as uncommon as you think. Some of the symptoms include fatigue, irritability, stomach cramps, trouble skin and indigestion. Cutting down yeast in your diet may help with some of these problems you’re experiencing and with this yummy recipe, you’re not sacrificing the treat. Plus, without any yeast, you don’t have to wait for these bad boys to rise, which means they’re ready to eat even faster!

Well Nourished recognizes that everyone has different dietary needs so they offer you lots of recipe tweaks to suit you! You can read her recipe for healthy hot cross buns here.

We would love to know if you’ve made these tasty treats! Make sure you snap a quick photo of your creation and share it with us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
